RF-Design Launches QLink, a Versatile Turnkey RF-over Fiber System
Lorsch, Germany. Nov. 3, 2018 — RF-Design has just launched their new QLink RF-over-Fiber system, a high-density and turnkey outdoor/indoor optical transmission solution.
RF Design says the QLink system is a combination of an IP64 rated weatherproof outdoor enclosure and a 1RU/19” rack-mount indoor chassis allowing transmission of max. 4 RF signals via optical fiber. The outdoor enclosure and the indoor-chassis can each be populated with up to 4 optical transmitter and/or receiver modules (mixed TX/RX population possible) making it a perfect fit satellite down- and uplink as well as for VSAT operations.
The QLink system supports extended L-Band frequency range (850 – 2450MHz) ready for KA-Band and HTS applications. Additionally, this turnkey RF-over-Fiber solution comes with beneficial features such as variable gain-control, RF power monitoring, switchable LNB-supply (via TX modules) and 10MHz reference signal transmission. Above all that it supports laser, link, power-supply and access status monitoring and comes with 1:1 redundant dual power-supplies.
Configuration and monitoring of a QLink systems can be done locally via front-panel LC-Display/keypads or remotely via Ethernet-Interface (WebGUI, SNMP).
The QLink system is available in various configurations:
- QLink O4T-I4R: 4 x optical TX (outdoor) / 4 x optical RX (indoor)
- QLink O4R-I4T: 4 x optical RX (outdoor) / 4 x optical RX (indoor)
- QLink O2T2R-I2T2R: 2 x optical TX, 2 x optical RX (outdoor) / 2 x optical RX, 2 x optical TX
- QLink O2T-I2R: (indoor) 2 x optical TX (outdoor) / 2 x optical RX (indoor)
