KOUROU, French Guiana, July 2, 2008 – Two more satellite geared for the Asian market, ProtoStar I and Arabsat’s BADR-6, are scheduled for launch on Friday, July 4, from the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana aboard an Ariane 5-ECA rocket.
KUALA LUMPUR, June 24, 2008 – Measat Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. has secured a launch date on 21 August 2008 for Measat-3a satellite.

On 18 April 2008, Vietnam's first satellite, Vinasat-1, was successfully launched by Arianespace with the use of a heavy-lift Ariane-5 ECA launch vehicle. The reportedly $200 million satellite will provide television, radio, and telephone services for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It was built by U.S.-based Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems (LMCSS) for the Vietnam-owned Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT).

HONG KONG, June 9, 2008 -- Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) has appointed Arlene Kahng as its General Counsel responsible for all legal matters associated with developing and operating satellite-based businesses.
SYDNEY, May 6, 2008 -- Optus announced last weekend several key appointments to its senior leadership team. Andrew Buay was appointed managing director, Products and Delivery, and will take up the role on June 1. Andrew has successfully led the Optus Wholesale and Satellite team for more than a year. Prior to this position he was chief operating advisor at Globe Telecom in the Philippines.
