Advantech Wireless releases Second Generation GaN Technology based 400W Ku-Band SapphireBluTM Series SSPA/SSPB

Montreal, Canada, July 2, 2015 – Advantech Wireless, a global leader for Satellite broadband communications solutions, announced today the release of the Second Generation GaN Technology based 400W Ku-Band SapphireBluTM  SSPA/SSPB, Ultra HD, and DVB-S2X  ready.

The Second Generation of GaN based SSPAs/BUCs continues the development roadmap introduced by Advantech Wireless back in 2010. These GaN based units provide an impressive 60% increase in Linear Transmit Power, without any increase in size or weight.

Cristi Damian, VP Business Development at Advantech Wireless stated, “These Ultra Linear GaN based SSPAs are designed to operate in harsh outdoor environments, and to replace multiple indoor combined Klystrons or TWTs. The consequent low OPEX cost, allows in most of the cases to recover the initial investment just in 1 or 2 years of energy consumption savings. It is an ideal solution to upgrade older teleports and to increase their profitability in an extremely competitive environment, while bringing on board technology that is DVB-S2X and Ultra HD ready.”
