Executives from Asia, Latin and North America Elected to WTA Board of Directors

New York City, April 1, 2015--The World Teleport Association (WTA) announced the election of four new members of its Board of Directors for three-year terms beginning April 1, 2015: David Ball, Chief Technology Officer, NewSat Limited; Marzio Laurenti, Chief Executive Officer, Telespazio Brasil S.A.; Ben Vine, Vice President, Media and Broadcasting Solutions, PCCW Global and Alan Young, Chief Technology Officer, Encompass Digital Media.

“We are honored to attract executives with this breadth of experience in Asia, Latin America and North American markets for teleport services,” said executive director Robert Bell.  “WTA’s Board represents a true cross-section of our industry in terms of geography, markets and technologies.  Representing many different companies, they are dedicated to the progress of independent teleport operators everywhere.”
 
At the same time as the new Directors take office, WTA’s new Chairman of the Board – James Trevelyan, Sales Director, Arqiva Satellite & Media – begins his term, as previously announced.  In addition to these Directors, members of the Board include: Roger Franklin, President & CEO, Crystal; Richard Hadsall, CTO, MTN; Robert Kubbernus, President & CEO, Signalhorn; Kian Soon Lim, Head, Business Group, Group Enterprise, Singtel; Tomaz Lovsin, Managing Director, STN; Mark Rathert, General Manager, Ground Operations (US), SES; Kurt Riegelman, Senior Vice President, Global Sales, Intelsat; Francis Rolland, CEO, GlobeCast UK; Jose Sanchez Ruiz, Director of Service Operations, Eutelsat; Jorge Luis Villarreal Schutz, CEO, Elara Comunicaciones; Serge Van Herck, CEO, Newtec; and Koby Zontag, Senior Director, Sales and Business Development, RR Media.
 
Directors on the WTA Board serve three-year terms, and are elected by the membership.
