Singapore, June 1, 2011--Dr. Hamadoun Touré, the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is the latest high-profile luminary to confirm their attendance at Asia’s flagship information and communication technology(ICT) event – CommunicAsia2011. Dr. Touré will deliver a keynote address on 22 June at the CommunicAsia2011 Summit. In his track titled, ‘Next Generation Broadband Infrastructure,’ he will urge the industry to harness the unique power of broadband access to the Internet in order to unleash the full potential of individuals and communities everywhere.

Thai PM Endorses the Power of Pay-TV

Bangkok, Thailand, Jan. 21, 2011--CASBAA’s Thailand in View forum, organised in association with the Satellite Television Association of Thailand, concluded on January 20, 2011 with an endorsement of the power of pay-TV by H.E. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Thailand. The Prime Minister opened the conference examining the opportunities and challenges affecting the broadcasting sector by championing regulatory change to support the growth of the cable and satellite broadcast industry as a constructive and ethical medium in Thailand.
