2% Revenue Growth for Commercial FSS Operators at Mid-Year 2015

Paris, France, November 4, 2015 - According to Euroconsult's newly published report, FSS Operators: Benchmarks & Performance Review, 2014 was positive for most FSS operators despite the fact that half of revenue-generating FSS operators experienced a slowdown in revenue growth. Industry growth was largely offset by the revenue decline  recorded by ten operators including several large companies such as Intelsat, Telesat and JSAT. As a result, total FSS industry revenues nearly stabilized at $12.3 billion in 2014. This trend is expected to continue in 2015 with industry revenues growing by 2% at constant exchange rates at the half year mark.

More than 330 million 4K UHD TVs will be Sold Globally by 2019

Dallas, Tex., October 14, 2015--Newly released connected CE research from Parks Associates finds more than 330 million 4K UHD TVs will be sold globally by the end of 2019, an increase from two million in 2013. The report,Connected CE: Trends and Innovation, notes that, of U.S. broadband households planning to purchase a flat-panel TV in 2015, 56% think that 4K picture quality is an important feature. Among flat-panel shoppers not planning to buy a 4K TV, 42% were unfamiliar with 4K/UHD technologies, and 44% felt either that the price was too high or that the picture quality was not worth the premium cost.

Top Pay TV Operators to Add 200 million Subs

London, UK, October 8, 2015--Pay TV subscriptions for 338 operators across 89 countries will increase by 200 million from a collective 704 million in 2014 to 904 million by 2020, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. The Global Pay TV Operator Forecasts report estimates that 29 operators had more than 5 million paying subs by end- 2014.
