Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operator Thuraya today announced the appointment of Ahmad Al Shareef as Senior Director of Human Resources and Support Operations as of January 2, 2014. As Thuraya’s new Head of Human Resources, Al Shareef is responsible for managing employee relations as well as overseeing the procurement and administration divisions. He reports to Samer Halawi, Chief Executive Officer of Thuraya and will serve as a member of the company’s leadership team.

NSR  today announced the appointment of Prashant Butani to the position of Senior Analyst. Based in Mumbai, India, Butani will serve as a regional and applications expert on satellite communications for NSR.

Andrew Ruszkowski has been named Chief Commercial Officer at XTAR, LLC, a provider of satellite capacity to U.S. and Allied governments in the X-band frequency. In the newly created position, Ruszkowski will continue to support XTAR’s fleet development to sustain current and anticipated government and military requirements, including working with the Department of Defense to assist its acquisition and procurement of commercial satellite communications.

Boeing announced the re-assignment to new positions of four executives in its Space & Intelligence Systems (S&IS) business.  Jim Simpson replaces Steve O’Neill, who is retiring, as vice president of Commercial Satellite Systems, president of Boeing Satellite Systems International, and president of Boeing Commercial Satellite Services. He will oversee all Boeing commercial satellites, ground systems, and services.
