Haitham Al-Ohali, Vice Minister at Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the new Chairman of Arabsat Board of Directors, accepting the resignation of CEO Eng. Khalid bin Ahmed Balkheyour and assigning Dr. Badr bin Nasser Al-Suwaidan, Chief Technical Officer, to head the organization.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) today signed an agreement with the Government of Romania for the hosting of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 (PP-22) in Bucharest. ITU's supreme governing body is set to convene from 26 September to 14 October 2022 at the Palace of the Parliament in the Romanian capital.

Iridium Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: IRDM) today announced that Greg Pelton will join the company as Chief Technical Officer (CTO), effective June 17, 2021.  Reporting to Iridium Chief Operations Officer Suzi McBride, Pelton is taking over for retiring CTO Hermon Pon and will lead Iridium’s world-class technology and system engineering teams both internally and with Iridium’s vast partner ecosystem.

At its May meeting, the Board of Directors of Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) appointed Nicole Robinson, President of Ursa Space Systems, as Chair and Katherine Gizinski, CEO of Mansat, as President. They are joined by eight new Directors elected by the membership for three-year terms beginning July 1. 

The World Teleport Association (WTA) today announced the election of four new members to its Board of Directors for three-year terms beginning April 1, 2021.
