DTH TV Platforms Adapt Their Strategies to Pass US$ 100 Billion in Revenues

Paris, France, November 12, 2013 – Euroconsult announced today the release of its Executive Report DTH Platforms: Key Economics & Prospects, the yearly reference report on satellite television. More than 150 platforms with TV revenues primarily derived from direct-to-home satellite broadcasting are now offering services. The 202 million DTH subscribers in over 100 countries (early in 2013) will result in over $100 billion in revenues this year. Although the report highlights large national specificities, three market profiles with different growth patterns and service availability can be identified:

Inmarsat Report Drop in Revenues

London, UK, Nov. 7, 2013 — Inmarsat plc reported today a drop in its revenues for the three months ended 30 September 2013 to US$ 306.9 million compared to $325 million during the same period last year. Inmarsat Global MSS revenues, however, grew slightly by 0.5% to US$ 187.6 million during the quarter compared to US$ 186.7 million during the same period last year. But Inmarsat Solutions revenues also dropped by 8.5% to US$ 188.3 million during the quarter from US$ 205.9 million during the same quarter last year.

Government & Industry to Combine for 1,150 Satellites Over Next Decade

Paris, France, November 4, 2013 – According to Euroconsult's recently published research report, Satellites to be Built & Launched by 2022, World Market Survey , 115 satellites will be launched on average each year worldwide over the next 10 years (2013-2022). As several commercial and government constellations will be launched into low earth orbit (LEO) in the coming years, up to 140 satellites per year are expected between 2015 and 2017, decelerating to 100 units afterwards.

Intelsat Nets US$ 87.8-M in 3Q, Warns of Lower Revenues Ahead

Washington, D.C., November 1, 2013 — Intelsat S.A.  reported on revenues of US$ 651.8 million and net income of $87.8 million, or $0.75 per share, for the three months ended September 30, 2013.  But the company admitted that its Q3 revenues was badly hit by the slowdown in military and other US Defense Department spending on satellite bandwidth, and warned of even lower revenues ahead from cuts in U.S. government spending.

Gains in Asia and Latin America STB Markets Won’t Offset Declines in N. America, W. Europe

Telesat Reports Increased Revenues for the Third Quarter

Ottawa, Canada, October 31, 2013--Telesat Holdings Inc.  announced its financial results for the three and nine month periods ended 
September 30, 2013.   For the quarter ended September 30, 2013, Telesat reported consolidated  revenues of CDN$ 238 million, an increase of approximately 8% (CDN $18 million)  compared to the same period in 2012. Revenue growth was principally the result  of revenue earned on the Anik G1 satellite, which entered into commercial  service in May 2013, and the provision of short-term satellite services to another 
satellite service provider.

TV Everywhere Dominates as Viewers Demand Content on Tablets, Smartphones and Other Devices

International Channels to earn US$ 5.5 billion by 2018

London, UK, October 24, 2013--Viacom (US$749 million) will reap the highest revenues of any international channel  group in Europe in 2013, according to a new report from Digital TV Research.  Covering 225 international channels/networks from 11 groups, the TV Channel  Revenues in Europe report estimates that Viacom will be followed by Eurosport (US$ 651 million) and Discovery (US $620 million).
