Intersputnik to Launch International Investment Program for Business Development

Moscow, August 9, 2018 — The Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications is launching a US$ 4.5 million international business development program to assist in the expansion of economic, scientific, technological, and cultural relations in telecommunications via man-made satellites.

Intersputnik said the program aims to contribute to the implementation of innovative space projects in the field of satellite telecommunications services, satellite audio and video broadcasting, manufacture of satellite systems and telecommunications equipment. The proposed project may also include construction and upgrading of satellite telecommunications ground infrastructure.

Intersputnik said a single applicant may receive up to US$750,000 in funding related to the program’s goals. The program will be launched in Q1-Q2 2019.

The investment program is targeted at member-countries of Intersputnik, although projects from other countries can also be considered. Today, Intersputnik unites the following 26 countries: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Georgia, India, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Korean Democratic People’s Republic, Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Poland, Russia, Romania, Syria, Somalia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic.
