ABS and FSM Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC) announced that they have signed a multi-year, multi-transponder deal on ABS-6, C-band. The capacity agreement will provide internet connectivity to support FSMTC’s growing business in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).

FSM is an independent sovereign island nation consisting of four states:  Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae in the West Pacific Ocean.    FSMTC is a public corporation established by the FSM to provide all telecommunications services.

Comtech EF Data has been awarded a US$ 1.0 million order for satellite modems and RF equipment, including RAN Optimization products from Comtech EF Data’s subsidiary, Memotec. A North African GSM operator will utilize the equipment to support its satellite-based GSM backhaul network upgrade and expansion.

Spanish satellite communications operator HISPASATis organising the HISPASAT 4K International Festival, one of the first film competitions in the world to exclusively feature short films shot in 4K.  The call for entries will be open from July 14 to September 23, 2015. The HISPASAT 4K International Festival is open to films produced in any country, in any genre, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes and shot in 4K format.

Comtech EF Data has received a $4.0 million contract award extension for additional Advanced Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Interface Processor (ATIP) production terminals from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR).

This is the second of four anticipated production year awards on the ATIP contract. Comtech completed delivery of the initial year earlier this year to support the Navy’s initial fielding of this new capability. SPAWAR has funded $24.9 million of the $40.2 million total potential contract value.
