AvL Technologies announced that five new Premium Ka-band Mobile VSAT antenna models have received terminal type approval certification from ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) for use on the ViaSat Ka-band enterprise service network. The antennas include an 85cm FlyAway, 85cm Vehicle-Mount, 1.2m FlyAway, 1.2m Vehicle-Mount, and specialized dual-band 1.2m Vehicle-Mount antenna. These new AvL antennas are approved for use on the ViaSat network with AvL’s AAQ auto-acquire embedded antenna control system.
The world’s first all-electric propulsion satellite, ABS-3A satellite is now in full commercial use. The satellite started service on August 31, 2015 to serve the Americas, Africa, Europe and the Middle East regions. Launched on March 1, 2015, the ABS-3A satellite built by Boeing has performed even better than expected having arrived ahead of schedule. In-Orbit tests have been successfully completed and the satellite became fully operational on August 31, 2015.
The Spanish satellite telecommunications operator HISPASAT will continue to drive services offered from the 55.5º West orbital position, thanks to the successful launch of the Intelsat 34 satellite on August 20th of this year from the European launch base at the Guiana Space Centre, located in French Guiana.
