This year Spanish satellite telecommunications operator HISPASAT is once again the technology sponsor of the 2016 Summer Courses being held from 27 June to 22 July in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, organised by the Complutense University of Madrid. HISPASAT is working together with the Complutense University of Madrid to provide the technological solution that allows them to transmit television signals over a satellite link located in the Euroforum Infantes, where the Summer Courses are held.

Advantech Wireless announced today the release of the new AMT-83L advanced satellite modem. The new military-grade satellite modem series from Advantech Wireless continues the line of the AMT-73L, the first worldwide satellite modem to be certified with MIL-STD-188-165A by DISA.

These modems were designed to fulfil two-way satellite gateway communication requirements in Defense Satellite Communications Systems (DSCS). Several thousand units have been deployed in the field on tactical terminals and gateway sites.

Driven by demand from high-security defense customers, ND SatCom released new software for both FIPS/WGS and non-FIPS systems to all customers.

Addressing the needs of our North American defense industry customers, ND SatCom enhanced the FIPS-certified software release V7.250.10 to now give full support for multiple MF-TDMA demodulators. In addition, this new release -  V7.250.14 - now supports antennas from various COTM antenna manufacturers. Our sales channel Airbus DS Government Solutions performed intensive testing and recently delivered to the first COTM customer.

HISPASAT, the spanish satellite communications operator, in colloboration with Spanish aerospace company INAER, carried out a demonstration of their new connectivity solution for emergency and security services with unmanned aircraft or drones. The demonstration took place on May 13th at the Rozas airfield in Lugo, in a ceremony attended by the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez-Feijóo.
