iKO Media Group (iKOMG), a global end-to-end service provider for broadcasters and content owners, announced today the deployment of Viaccess-Orca’s VO’s Conditional Access System (CAS) in its Rome-based teleport. Viaccess-Orca (VO) provides OTT and TV platforms, content protection, and advanced data analytics solutions.

International satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) and Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT) have signed an $18 million contract to provide broadband connectivity across Russia. Gilat will deliver its’ multiservice platform and user terminals to operate over the new Yamal 601 Ka satellite.

The companies also signed a Cooperation Agreement for joint development of communication projects such as IFC, and railway transport.

The order for VSAT networking equipment will be deployed by a government entity to support a new VSAT network.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., which is part of Comtech’s Commercial Solutions segment, received an award of over $20.0 million from a systems integrator for millimeter-wave traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) to support a new high-speed satellite network. Products will be delivered over the next two fiscal years.

Baylin Technologies Inc. (TSX: BYL) has announced that its Dorval, Quebec subsidiary, Advantech Wireless Technologies Inc., has released its new L-Band to 720MHz SATCOM synthesized frequency converters.

The new SATCOM L-Band up & down converters from Advantech are designed to translate the 720 +/- 200 MHz band to 800-1550 MHz with 100 KHz step size. This frequency translation provides a low cost alternative for using off-the-shelf, satellite based, block-up or block-down converters that usually include an L-band input or output within 800-1550 MHz.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., which is part of Comtech's Commercial Solutions segment, won a tender by a major Mobile Network Operator (MNO) in China to replace the older generation of lower efficiency modems to provide more reliable services at a much lower OPEX.
