This month, Satellite Executive Briefing invited the Chairperson of the Satellite Industry Association (SIA) Stuart Daughtridge to share his views on trends in the industry.  Daughtridge is also the Vice President of Advanced Technology for Kratos. He takes a closer look at the revolution taking place in the satellite industry, up in space – and on the ground. Follows are his insights:

The World Teleport Association (WTA) today announced that it will present the 2020 Teleport Executive of the Year Award to Mauricio Segovia, CEO of AXESS Networks at the 25th annual Teleport Awards for Excellence Ceremony and Luncheon on March 10 during the SATELLITE conference in Washington, DC.

Neil Fraser has just been appointed as Director of Defense and Space Programs at NSSLGlobal. Fraser has made the move to NSSLGlobal to help shape and grow the defense communications side of the business. He seeks to connect his military experience with emerging technology and industry best practice to deliver improvements.

The 2020 NAB Show Executive Leadership Summit (ELS) will feature a keynote conversation with WarnerMedia Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt on Sunday, April 19 at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. In a Q-and-A with Variety Business Editor Cynthia Littleton, Greenblatt will discuss opportunities for WarnerMedia and plans for the newly aligned sister companies HBO, TNT, TBS, truTV, Otter Media and soon-to-launch HBO Max.

SES today announced the Board of Directors has appointed Sandeep Jalan as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company. He will assume the position from May 6, 2020.

The Board of Speedcast International Limited (ASX:SDA) (FRA:7SC) (OTCMKTS:SPPDF), a provider of remote communication and IT solutions,  has accepted the resignation of PJ Beylier as CEO, effective from February 1, 2020.

The Switch, a platform for the production and global delivery of live video, today announced the appointment of Andy Goldstein as Chief Financial Officer. As The Switch’s CFO, Goldstein will oversee the company’s financial activities globally, driving strategic initiatives and international growth. He will be based in The Switch’s headquarters in New York, reporting directly to Eric Cooney, The Switch’s President & CEO, while working closely with the rest of the company’s senior leadership team.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) (“Comtech”) announced today that its Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer  Michael Porcelain has been promoted and will assume the additional role of President.

Frequency Electronics, Inc. (FEI) has announced it is promoting one of its long time technical leaders to Senior Vice Presidnet (SVP) and Chief Scientist.. Dr. Thomas McClelland, in addition to holding a PhD in physics from Columbia University, has led FEI’s advanced technical development team for the last 20 years.

He is a 35 year veteran with FEI and has been principally responsible for the design and production of advanced technology quartz oscillators and Rubidium atomic clocks. Dr. McClelland replaces Martin Bloch, the Company’s former Chief Scientist.
