EchoStar Corporation today announced that former NASA Flight Director Jerry Jason  has joined EchoStar Satellite Services, L.L.C. (ESS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of EchoStar Corp., as vice president, spacecraft operations and engineering.

The Society of Satellite Professionals International today announced the appointment of Dianne VanBeber, Vice President, Investor Relations and Communications for Intelsat, as Chair of the Board, and of Chris Stott, Chairman & CEO of Mansat, as President.

Launch services provider Spaceflight Inc. has promoted Curt Blake as its new President. Blake, who previously served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, has led efforts to expand Spaceflight’s global network of launch service providers while building relationships with key commercial-, civilian- and defense-related customers.

Veteran aerospace and defense executive John Belcher has been named to the Board of Directors of Signalhorn, a global provider of premium network and communications services using terrestrial, satellite, and wireless technologies.

Intelsat S.A. has appointed 25-year satellite industry veteran Patrick French as Head as of Business Development in the Asia Pacific region. In his new role,  French will be responsible for helping to develop and implement Intelsat’s strategy for the region.  He will be based in Singapore and report directly to Dee Schwalb, Intelsat’s Vice President, Business Development & Satellite Related Services.

Satellite service provider Arqiva today announced the appointment of David Crawford as Managing Director, Sateliite. Crawford  takes over from from Barrie Woolston who has been the interim managing director for the past six months and will remain Commercial Director for Satellite.

Launch service provider Sea Launch AG today announced the resignation of its President, Kjell Karlsen effective February 28, 2014, to pursue other opportunities outside space industry.  After his departure, the company’s senior executive team will carry out Karlsen’s former duties and responsibilities, according to Sea Launch.

Inmarsat today announced that Tony Bates will join the company on June 2 as an executive director and its Chief Financial Officer.
