David Charron has resigned as independent director of  International Datacasting Corporation (IDC), effective immediately. As a result, the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee of IDC has commenced its search for a new director.

Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) announced a new organizational structure for its sales and marketing team.  Under the new organisational structure, both sales and business development teams will be headed by Philip Balaam. Under his expanded role as Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Phil will assume new responsibilities in driving sales activities in all Asian markets while continuing to oversee the company’s business development initiatives.  

Encompass Digital Media announced the appointment of Jonathan Goldstein as its Senior Vice President, North America Sales and Client Services. In this role, Goldstein will lead Encompass’ sales efforts in North America while simultaneously focusing on the expansion of strategic relationships with current and future clients.

SES (NYSE Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG) announced today that Patrick Biewer has been appointed by the LuxGovSat S.A. Board of Directors as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 July 2015. Jointly held by SES and the Luxembourg Government, the company’s objectives are the acquisition, the launch and the operation of a satellite for the provision of governmental and military communication services.

Effective June 15, Paul Molinier will be appointed as CEO of Viaccess-Orca, a provider content protection and delivery solutions, and a subsidiary of the Orange Group. Paul Molinier will take over responsibilities from François Moreau de Saint Martin, who has joined Orange Business Services as vice president of industry and IT large accounts. 

Artel Video Systems, an employee-owned global provider of broadcast-quality video transport solutions, today announced the appointment of Mike Rizzo as president and CEO.  Rizzo joins Artel with more than 20 years in executive management positions.

The OMVC (Open Mobile Video Coalition) took a prominent position at NAB this year with the Mobile DTV Marketplace set up in the Central Lobby and a Mobile DTV Pavilion in the South Hall, as well as hosting a breakfast and speaking at several sessions. The OMVC is an association of nearly 900 TV broadcasters supporting the A/153 ATSC Mobile DTV Standard which was adopted by the ATSC in October 2009. This is an in-band system providing the mobile service as part of the terrestrial transmission within the same 6MHz channel used for ATSC HD and SD programming.  

Rockwell Collins announced today that Steve Nieuwsma has been named vice president, Corporate Strategy for the company effective immediately. In this newly created role, Nieuwsma is responsible for developing strategies to accelerate organic and inorganic growth at Rockwell Collins. He reports to Jeff MacLauchlan, senior vice president, Corporate Development.

Nieuwsma has held key leadership roles throughout his career and most recently served as vice president, Commercial Systems Engineering for Rockwell Collins.

Comtech EF Data has announced the promotion of Louis Dubin to Senior Vice President, Product Management. In this role, Dubin will lead the company’s Product Management organization and direct CEFD’s primary technology and marketing thrusts.
