Terrasat Communications, a leader in Radio Frequency (RF) solutions for satellite communication systems, announced that is has receive two contract awards valued at US$ 21 million.  The first award for an High Throughput Satellite (HTS) provider will replace aging TWTA amplifiers with Terrasat’s new high-powered phase combined IBUC’s Intelligent Block Up Converters (IBUC’s).

 Ka-Titan-200w.jpgMission Microwave Technologies, LLC, a manufacturer of highly efficient Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) and Block Upconverters (BUCs) continues to receive new and follow-on orders for its 200 watt Titan BUCs for use in a variety of satellite constellations. Mission Microwave’s terminal integrator customers have been deploying the Ka-Band Titan BUC in volume since 2017. Titan Ka-band BUC orders placed and scheduled for delivery in 2021 exceed US$ 8 million.

HISPASAT, Grupo Red Eléctrica's communications satellite operator, has begun a pilot project with Correos to give satellite connectivity to certain offices located in places where Internet access is problematic. The pilot will initially be run in six locations - three in Zamora (Santa Cristina de la Polvorosa, Fermoselle and Coreses), two in Teruel (Valdealgolfa and Mosqueruela) and one in Soria (Duruelo de la Sierra) - and may be rolled out to the company's other rural service points that have connectivity issues.
