New data from Juniper Research has found that the number of connected IoT (Internet of Things) devices, sensors and actuators will reach over 46 billion in 2021. This 200% increase, from 2016, will be driven in large part by a reduction in the unit costs of hardware. Juniper forecasts that it will average close to the ‘magic’ $1 throughout the period.
NSR’s newly released Land-Mobile via Satellite, 4th Edition (LMvS4) report projects cumulative revenue will top $18.1 billion during the 2015-2025 period. The market is highly dependent on new products and timely launch of higher bandwidth satellites, which leverage increased bandwidth demand brought about by use of personal electronic devices in the field.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) today launched the seventh edition of its annual ConsumerLab TV & Media Report, which details the enormous and rapid shift in TV and video viewing behavior towards mobility. The report also shows that while both mobile video and on-demand TV viewing have soared over the past seven years, content discovery remains a huge frustration for consumers.

According to the 9th edition of Euroconsult's report, Satellite-Based Earth Observation, Market Prospects to 2025, due to be published in the coming weeks, 163 satellites (>50kg) were launched for civil and commercial Earth observation (excluding meteorology) over 2006-2015. These were launched for entities in 35 countries and generated $18.4 billion in manufacturing market revenues. Most of these satellites were launched by government operators to support policy objectives spanning climate change, sustainable development and industrial support.
