Shares of EchoStar Corp. declined 7.3% following the company’s 2Q19 earnings release, reflecting disappointment with the company’s subpar EBITDA performance and one-time charges. Following the decline, shares of EchoStar are now trading at 4.9x the consensus 2020 EBITDA forecast, which represents a discount to both the stock’s long-term average and its closes peer group competitor Viasat.
Viasat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), reported strong first quarter fiscal year 2020 performance with a year-over-year revenue increase of 22%, net loss decrease of 66% and Adjusted EBITDA growth of 115% for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2019.

Satellite operator Thaicom Public Company Limited (THCOM),announced its financial results for the second quarter ended 30 June 2019. Thaicom reported a decrease in net profit compared to the previous quarter and the same quarter of last year due to the recognition of several extra expenses.
Thaicom reported revenue from sales and services for Q2/2019 of US$39.5 million (THB 1,217 million) — down by 18.6% from Q2/2018 and down by 6.6% from Q1/2019 — as a result of reduced satellite utilization and special price adjustment for a major customer.
Satellite operator Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I), reported total revenue of US $ 509.4 million for the three months ended June 30, 2019. But it also posted a net loss of US$ 529.7 million because of a US$ 381.6 million asset impairment charge incurred in the second quarter of 2019 for the total loss of Intelsat 29e satellite in April this year.
This translates to a quarterly loss of $1.05 per share and compares to loss of $0.38 per share a year ago. Yahoo Finance says the quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of -10.53%.
Hughes Network Systems, LLC has announced that PHSAT Telecom Solutions, Inc. (PHSAT), has chosen the Hughes' Jupiter System to enable Internet services for its small- to medium-enterprise (SME) customers.
