Shailesh Rao, Twitter Inc’s Vice President for Americas, Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets, will deliver a visionary address at CommunicAsia2014 Summit and BroadcastAsia2014 International Conference titled “You Matter: Asians Shaping The Pulse of the World Through Live, Authentic Conversations” to examine the role of social media and its significance in today’s society. 

The visionary address will be held on 18 June, 2014, at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Taiwan’s plans to restructure its regulation of the cable-TV industry were the focus of a day-long seminar in Taipei on April 8, 2014, before 100 industry leaders, government officials, academics and foreign experts. CASBAA hosted the seminar together with Taiwan’s NCC, which is considering options for the restructuring.

Israel-based SintecMedia today announced that the company has acquired Pilat Media, both providers of media business management software. According to the Wall Street Journal, Pilat shareholders registered as of 6.00 p.m. (London) on April 2, 2014, shall receive 95 pence (US$1.60) in cash for per share, save where they have validly requested to receive such cash payment in NIS.

The Commission reiterated its call to International community to recognize the transformational potential of high-speed networks and ensure broadband penetration targets are specifically included in the UN post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
