Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) announced that it will reorganize its business segments to increase operational efficiency and capture synergies that result from Harris’ recent acquisition of Exelis.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today that Lieutenant General John “Jay” Raymond, Commander, 14th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic), Air Force Space Command and Commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, will provide the keynote for SATCON, part of NAB’s Content and Communications World (CCW), on Thursday, November 12. ARRIS’ acquisition of Pace created the largest set-top manufacturer, with 22% worldwide market share of the set-top box market. ARRIS is about three times larger than most competitors including EchoStar, Technicolor, Cisco, and Humax. Set-top semiconductor leader Broadcom was also acquired by relative newcomer Avago, an acquisition not directly impactful to the set-top market, but a sign of the significant consolidation that will continue to impact the market in the next few years.

During  International Datacasting Corporation's (TSX:IDC) annual general and special meeting of shareholders held on June 12, 2015, its shareholders rjected a proposed sale of the company's broadcast assets to Pico Digital.

The meeting was well attended, with approximately 54% of shareholders in attendance or represented by proxy.

Boeing [NYSE: BA] is on contract to build ABS-8, the third all-electric propulsion 702SP (small platform) satellite for ABS, a commercial satellite provider based in Bermuda and Hong Kong. This satellite will expand broadcast and enterprise services to Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Russia, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

RR Media (NASDAQ: RRM), a provider of global digital media services to the broadcast industry, has announced the acquisition of Satlink Communications, an Israel-based global provider of content distribution, management and playout services for US$ 19 million subject to bank debts and other certain adjustments.
