Leosat, LLC, a company developing a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation to provide worldwide coverage, today announced the appointment of Vern Fotheringham as Chief Executive Officer and outlined the company’s vision publicly for the first time since beginning its development in 2013.
The World Teleport Association (WTA) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected James Trevelyan, Sales Director at Arqiva Satellite & Media, as its new Chairman effective April 1. Mr. Trevelyan replaces M. Brett Belinsky, Managing Director of EMEA at Encompass Digital Media, who has served as Chairman of the Board since 2011 and is stepping down from the Board at the end of his final term.
SES announced today that Christophe De Hauwer has been appointed by the Board of Directors of SES as Chief Development Officer (CDO) and member of the company’s Executive Committee, effective 1 August 2015.
DISH Network Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) today announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph P. Clayton will retire from his position effective March 31, 2015. Clayton, who is a 42-year veteran of the consumer electronics industry, leaves the post he assumed in June of 2011. Clayton’s retirement from the DISH Board of Directors also will be effective March 31. DISH Co-founder and Chairman Charles W. Ergen, who has previously served as DISH’s President and CEO, will succeed Clayton in those roles.
The World Teleport Association today announced that Jorge Luis Villarreal Schutz, CEO of Mexico-based Elara Comunicaciones, has been named as its 2015 Teleport Executive of the Year. Villarreal will be honored during WTA’s Teleport Awards for Excellence luncheon on March 17 during SATELLITE 2015. The Teleport Executive of the Year award is presented to an individual for demonstrated entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation in the development or operation of a teleport-based business.
