Hispasat Help Drive Intelligent Management of Agricultural and Livestock Farms

Madrid, Spain, November 13, 2019--Hispasat, the Spanish communications satellite operator from the Red Eléctrica Group, and Eurona, the Spanish multinational telecommunications firm, are implementing two pilot projects to promote digital transformation in the rural agrofood sector and to bridge the digital divide in the field through technologies like satellites and WiFi hotspots. The initiatives are being carried out in the provinces of Ávila and Alicante in collaboration with local farmers and ranchers.

Angolan Satellite Services Company Signed a Contract on AMOS-17

Cape Town, South Africa, November 11, 2019: Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, today announced that a leading Angolan satellite services company has signed a contract for C-Band HTS capacity on the newly launched AMOS-17 communication satellite. The Angolan company will utilize capacity on AMOS-17 primarily for cellular backhaul to better connect rural and low-density communities throughout the Southern African country.

A Teleport with a View to the Future

Sofia, Bulgaria, November 4, 2019--I’ve been to many teleports all over the world  and having worked in one for several years, it never ceases to amaze me how teleports which provide essentially similar services can still be unique in their own way. This was the case when I visited the sprawling VIVACOM teleport in Plana, Bulgaria about 30 kilometers south of the capital city of Sofia. This is one of the largest ground station facilities in Eastern Europe with more than 50 antennas ranging in size up to 18.3 meters.

Tel Aviv, Israel, November 4, 2019--On August 6, 2019,  AMOS-17 was successfully launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida.  The satellite is located at 17 degrees East where it covers the African continent, along with Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It is positioned right over central Africa, to optimize service in the region.

Montreal, Canada, October 22, 2019--Advantech Wireless Technologies launched a new line of Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) and Block Up Converters (BUCs). The new  SSPAs and Block Up Converters (BUCs) from Advantech Wireless Technologies are available in both Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) configurations with power levels from 8 watts to 1000 watts in Ku, X and C-Bands.
