ProtoStar, Arabsat Satellites to Launch July 4

KOUROU, French Guiana, July 2, 2008 – Two more satellite geared for the Asian market, ProtoStar I and Arabsat’s BADR-6, are scheduled for launch on Friday, July 4, from the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana aboard an Ariane 5-ECA rocket.

Measat-3a Launch Set in August

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24, 2008 – Measat Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. has secured a launch date on 21 August 2008 for Measat-3a satellite.

GlobeCast Asia to Open Playout Center in Singapore

SINGAPORE, June 17, 2008 – GlobeCast is extending its service range in Asia with the upcoming launch of a playout and media management center at its regional headquarters in Singapore.  The content management and delivery company said the launch in October follows GlobeCast’s acquisition of Pacific Century Matrix in Hong Kong and is part of the company’s strategy to expand its geographic and commercial offering in Asia.

ChinaSat-9 DBS Satellite Launched

BEIJING, June 10, 2008 -- ChinaSat-9 telecommunication satellite, otherwise known as ZhongXing-9 (ZX-9), built by Thales Alenia Space as prime contractor, was successfully boosted into orbit on Monday from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province by a Long March 3B rocket.

Intelsat Renews China Central Television Contract for U.S. DTH Services
