Global Satellite Community to Assemble at SATELLITE 2014

Rockville, MD, February 5, 2014 – SATELLITE 2014 to be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from March 10-13 in Washington, D.C., is set to host over 12,000 satellite communications professionals with more than 300 speakers in 60 sessions and more than 350 exhibitors displaying the latest technologies in the satellite communications marketplace.

In addition to the Conference and Exhibition, SATELLITE 2014 also offers attendees more than 15 hours of networking opportunities by bringing the satellite community’s leading organizations together in one forum. These partners include the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA), the Washington Space Business Roundtable (WSBR), the World Teleport Association (WTA), and the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI).

SATELLITE 2014’s networking activities will commence Monday evening with a Welcome Reception for all attendees. The following morning, ‘The Big Four’ will gather on one stage, an annual event exclusive to SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition, to discuss Setting an Agenda for Global Success.

On Tuesday, March 11, SATELLITE 2014 will recognize leaders from MSUA, WSBR and WTA in several luncheons and awards presentations. MSUA will be honoring mobile satellite innovators and pioneers with the Pioneer and Innovation Awards, WSBR will host its annual Flagship Luncheon and Silent Auction while WTA holds their 2014 Teleport Awards Luncheon. Later that evening, SSPI will host its annual Gala, one of the satellite industry’s preeminent social and networking events of the year.

Attendees will continue to interact with other leaders in the satellite community on Wednesday, March 12, when Via Satellite magazine presents its annual Satellite Executive of the Year Award at a luncheon sponsored by Boeing. New to SATELLITE 2014 will be the Awards Celebration and Reception: Honoring Excellence in the Satellite Community, honoring the Satellite Executive of the Year and the recipients of Via Satellite’s inaugural Excellence Awards. The Awards Celebration and Reception will be held later that evening.

On Thursday, March 13, SATELLITE 2014 will round out its networking activities with another new eventVia Satellite’s Excellence Awards Winners Breakfast, which salutes the innovative companies, technologies, campaigns and people who’ve helped shape the success of the satellite industry.
