406 million Cellular lines in the Arab World

Amman, Jordan, February 12, 2015--Mobile operators in nineteen Arab countries had 406.3 million cellular lines at end of the 1st quarter 2014, up from 401 million at yearend 2013, a growth of 1.3%. In 2013 the cellular lines base had grown by a healthier 9.1%. A new report from Arab Advisors Group analyzes and ranks cellular operators in the Arab World. The three cellular operators in Egypt; Vodafone, Mobinil and Etisalat were the largest Arab cellular operators in terms of subscriptions by end of March 2014.

Global Mobile Data traffic grew 69% in 2014

San Jose, Calif., February 4, 2015--Global mobile data traffic grew 69 percent in 2014. Sub-Saharan Africa Pay TV Revenues to Reach US$ 6.2 billion

London, UK, January 14, 2015--Pay TV revenues in Sub-Saharan Africa will reach US$ 6.22 billion in 2020, up from US$ 3.54 billion in 2014 and US$ 1.92 billion in 2010, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. Excluding South Africa, pay TV revenues will climb from US$ 0.83 billion in 2010 to US$ 1.73 billion in 2014 and US$ 4.12 billion in 2020.

Consumers Expect More A la Carte Entertainment

Las Vegas, Nevada, January 6, 2014–As the technology world converges at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a forward-thinking Irdeto global research survey finds that consumers expect to be using a mixture of a la carte Internet TV and pay TV services by 2020 as they search for the optimal viewing experience. The research revealed that only 18% of consumers in the US are expecting to watch most content through pay TV services versus 21% of UK consumers and 27% of US consumers expecting to watch most content through Internet TV services like Netflix or Amazon Prime versus 11% in the UK.
