Hytera Communications Enters into Definitive Agreement to Acquire Norsat

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, March 27, 2017– Norsat International Inc.  (TSX: NII and NYSE MKT: NSAT), a provider of unique and customized communication solutions for remote and challenging applications, today announced that it has entered into an arrangement agreement (the “Arrangement Agreement”) with Hytera Project Corp. (“Hytera”) a subsidiary of Hytera Communications Co., Ltd. pursuant to which Hytera will acquire all the issued and outstanding shares of Norsat for $10.25 in United States dollars (“USD”) in cash per share, pursuant to a court-approved plan of arrangement (the “Arrangement”).  All unexercised options and restricted share units will also be acquired under the Arrangement. The proposed transaction values Norsat at an equity value of approximately $62 million USD.

AvL Technologies Announces Strategic Hires on its Engineering Team

Gilat Reports Profitable Fourth Quarter 2016 Results

Petah Tikva, Israel,February 14, 2017–Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT), a provider of satellite networking technology, solutions and services, today reported its results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2016. Revenues for Q4 2016 increased 19% to $80.3 million from $67.7 million in Q4 2015.

Arianespace Successfully Launched Hispasat 36W-1 satellite

Kourou, French Guiana, January 28, 2017--At 01:03 UTC, Arianspace successfully launched the Hispasat 36W-1 (H36W-1), from the European Spaceport of Kourou in French Guiana, aboard Arianespace’s Soyuz launch vehicle.  

 

Boeing Delivers ABS-2A into Full Operation

Hong Kong, January 23, 2017– Boeing [NYSE: BA] has delivered ABS-2A, an all-electric propulsion 702 satellite, to ABS which entered into commercial service on January 21st. This is the second of the pair of all-electric satellite Boeing has delivered to ABS. ABS-2A was launched in June 2016 aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 and will provide enhanced satellite communications services, including direct-to-home television services.

Viaccess-Orca Acquires BigHill to Strengthen Mobile Video Portfolio

Paris, France, Jan. 17, 2017—Viaccess-Orca announced today that it has acquired BigHill, a Finland-based software company that specializes in developing mobile apps for TV content. An agreement between the two companies was reached in December 2016. Adding a mobile TV app solution to its rich product and solutions portfolio will allow Viaccess-Orca to offer content providers an end-to-end solution for a rich and immersive content experience on any device.
